What does Christ Church offer?
Baptism (Christenings)
Everyone is welcome to have their baby or child baptised – there are around 10,000 babies and infants christened each month in the Church of England! There is no difference between a baptism and a christening – it is simply two words used to describe the same thing! Baptism marks the beginning of a journey with God which continues for the rest of our lives. This first step is a response to God’s love.
Weddings
As Christians, we believe marriage is a gift from God. So, getting married is perhaps one of the biggest and most important decisions a person can make in their lives. With that in mind, we would love to be part of this momentous decision and for you to get married her at Christ Church, Willaston in Wirral!
Funerals – Celebrations of Life
As Christians, we believe there is more to life than death – death is not the end. Jesus proved this by rising to new life on that very first Easter Sunday morning. However, that doesn’t mean when we lose someone we love that it doesn’t hurt – it does hurt and it does matter. Another thing that will matter to you as loved ones of the departed is how you celebrate their life and lay them to rest with Jesus in eternal life.
Why We Pray
When we pray, we offer ourselves into God’s presence. We aren’t just asking Him for something we want, although He will always listen. When we pray, we make ourselves ready to accept the Trinity – God the Father, in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. Prayer helps us set a spiritual rhythm, and prayer can change the way we think about the world we live in whilst we prepare ourselves to be received into the next.
