Easter Services

This Easter we were delighted to welcome to church all those who attended our Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Day services. On Palm Sunday, we held our usual procession around the churchyard, in remembrance of Christ’s entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, and received palm crosses, blessed by Canon Lyndon. On Maundy Thursday, we commemorated the Last Supper Jesus shared with his disciples, and heard Christine Smith, our Reader-in-Training, preach a very moving and thought provoking sermon. On Good Friday, we reflected upon the last seven ‘words’ or phrases Jesus uttered from the Cross. Then on Easter Day, we celebrated the Resurrection of Our Lord from the dead, showing that He conquered sin, Satan and death! At our 10.30am service, we held an Easter Egg hunt that was enjoyed by all! As with our services over last Christmas, attendance was up at our services this Easter season when compared to previous years. Thanks to all who made our services during Holy Week and Easter such a success, and thank you especially to all those who decorated the church ready for Easter Day.
